The Prizes Eisner 2009

The Prizes Eisner is one of the most important that’s given by the comic. The full name is Will Eisner Comic Industry Award, and it’s being held during the San Diego Comic Con. And here are the prizes of this year of the comics. The Prizes are given to the entire public comic in the US. For that there are also prizes for other nations including the manga. Last year Viz won the prize for the Best Edition North America of Materials International of Japan for Tekkonkinkreet: Black & White, The Creator Taiyo Matsumoto.

Manga Assassin!

The 9 of October a person from Taiwan whose last name is Huang was arrested for committing murder. It turns out that this guy started to look in the internet places where he can rent, until someone was willing to give him a tour so that he view and to see where he’s willing to rent. However Huang met with this person and at the moment he did with a hammer he hit his head. Being unsatisfied he stabbed his neck with a knife, causing the victim instant death. From this he started getting personal articles from the victim including his own address, where was his wife and only child lived, making Huang broke his was through and started causing them severe wounds, but fortunately not killing them. But his plan wasn’t perfect, for his madness and thirst of blood he made himself a wound, heading to the hospital to be attended he was recognized by some workers, who right away gave notice to the police. Thanks to this, his victims were found and taken away to the same hospital to be attended and also reported the attack. To end this blood thirsty story, Huang blamed a certain manga that gave him the idea to make such an act. This was about the manga GUNNM (Battle Angel Alita). The editor Tong Li, by half of communication, offer may apologies to the victims and a promise to look through the manga so that such event shall never be committed. My personal opinion, without doubt, a person who doesn’t know who to blame for his own acts.


4-Chan, the Internet Chaos Organization

It started at 2003 in Japan with the image forums, following with the style for 2-Chan. You can post images, normally of anime and make many comments. Possibly this last word is the most important because soon the forums known in the internet as /b/, went in fame for being originally to certain geeks from the internet, including today’s popular lolcats, mudkips, the rickrolling and others more. Besides its big popularity, 4-Chan doesn’t announce much, but /b/ is where he does. There are no rules in that area (Only a few exceptions, basically like kids porno and organizing "Invasions"), in which it can be described it the old east: Everyone against Everyone. At first sight it looks like a forum that’s being governed by many trolls. In reality /b/ and 4-Chan best described as Unknown, is a type of mask that anyone can hide behind it. The year 2007 thanks to Fox Media, 4-Chan was recognized at USA as nothing more than "Hacker in Steroids", since its tradition is to make "Attacks" against web sites leaving then without bandwidth making it look like "Domestic Terrorist", things that the Unknown seems to have fun with. This came at the first attack against the church of logical science that was originally organized by the Unknown, without anyone knowing the names of anybody, a lot of people were surprised since, how is it possible that there was so much organization turn into total chaos? Of course, it’s because of the strong and active attitude of Unknown (Who organized the protest) and his carefree attitude, (Including first of all User 4-Chan) both got separate quickly, and from there was born project Chorology, that is a little more organized than 4-Chan, who is still using the same computer geeks and the same protests.

It’s very clear that the Japanese culture is one and only in this world, and if you want to promote a product in its nation it’s a good idea to associate with those who like it. As you can see, Microsoft Want to enter in that Japanese society of videogames. In the Japanese stores you can now find a new prepay to give a small push and sales of Microsoft. The Category that shows the greatest stuff and the best titles of 360 for Japan, has a simple cover of a girl dressed of Xbox 360, in which it probably made many Japanese buy this only because of the rather Kawaii character. Not only that but also has the prices of many packets (of the most cheapest $265 Dollars, and the most expensive $530 dollars, Making it look as if Microsoft actually worries for keeping a standard price in other nations), And also make crossed references with the rivals. For Example, afirming that the games are cheaper than the PS3 and the titles multiplatform look better and not only that but the games Xbox Live Arcade cost half of what it used to.
